Wood & Working
Woodworking, around real life.

Making time
to make
furniture.

I’m Steve. I work full time, have two young boys, and build in our garage. This is where I share the projects, the problems, and what I learn while making time for woodworking.

The projects ↗
01

The shop rebuild

The garage shop rebuild

Building cabinets and a walnut tool wall to make the garage easier to work in—while keeping it usable for everyday life.

02

Planned build

A mobile workbench

Next on the list: a workbench that doubles as a table saw outfeed table and rolls out of the way when the garage needs to be a garage.

03

The next chapter

More furniture builds

The point of improving the shop is to spend more time making furniture. I’ll add new builds here as they happen.

The problems are
part of the story.

I’m documenting the process as I learn: what I tried, what went wrong, and how I worked through it. If you’re finding your own way into woodworking, come along.
